SOLA ROSA (NZ)- LIVE- FULL 7 PIECE BAND

Sola Rosa is one of Kiwi music’s most evolutionary and enduring acts.

With seven full-length albums, four EPs, a handful of hits, countless collaborations and numerous world tours, it’s been a near 20-year labour of love for Sola Rosa, highlighted by numerous festival appearances including The Big Day Out, Subsonic, Womad, Splore, Green Man and Ragamuffin

And although it’s punctuated with twists and turns in the form of constant change and innovation, one thing has remained the same – Sola Rosa’s steadfast commitment to making great albums that seamlessly blend a myriad of genres, from hip-hop and jazz, to neo-soul, dub, latin and funk.

Sola Rosa are proud to announce they’ll be crossing the Tasman this April with the FULL 7 PIECE BAND for an EXCLUSIVE PERTH SHOW at Reverb 2018

“Sola Rosa is one band that fits the bill to have on high rotation over the long summer…..Sola Rosa’s evitable reputation as one of NZ’s finest and innovative bands around”

THE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS

‘Raw, spooky, rootsy, punky, reggae, dubby’ – these are some of the ways the music of The Beautiful Girls has been described. And in 2017 & 2018, they’re taking it all the way back to the sonic beginnings to celebrate anniversaries of their two seminal releases Morning Sun and Learn Yourself.

Periscopes, Music, Blackbird and LaMar, amazing performances all over the planet, the voice of Mat McHugh, heart-on-the-sleeve songs, pioneering Australia’s surf-roots-reggae sounds; these are things fans worldwide think of when they think of The Beautiful Girls.

Now Mat has decided to strip back the performances to their original essence – the striking three-piece sound which first brought the band to attention fifteen years ago.

AINSLIE WILLS

''All the ingredients of mature pop bliss lie in the work of Ainslie Wills'

The Guardian 4/5

Recently described as 'the Australian version of Tina Turner' after her performances supporting Leon Bridges (US) on his Australian tour, melodic architect and soulful crooner Ainslie Wills, known for her genre bending progressive pop tunes is dynamic performer embodying both strength and vulnerability.

Following on from her Australian and Melbourne music prize nominated LP You go your way, I'll go mine which was deemed 'a beguiling debut' by the folks at Rolling Stone, her most recent offering in EP Oh The Gold is one of her most sonically ambitious recordings to date.

The EP was given a nod by the folks at Triple J, Double J, Radio National and Bandcamp Weekly. BBC 6 radio UK also made the single Constellations Headphones Moment of The Day via the morning show with Lauren Laverne.

In support of the EP Ainslie has been touring nationally including spots at Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass, NYE on the Hill and has earned a spot on this years Womadelaide line-up.

LITTLE QUIRKS

“These Quirks have the nous and charm of the greats. Deft songwriting and performers of depth and levity. Watch ‘em rise”

TIM ROGERS (You Am I) Jan ‘18

The Little Quirks are currently mid-way through their ‘Suzie Knows Tour’ where they have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with legends Tim Rogers, Mark Seymour and Busby Marou amongst others as well as performing at festivals including ‘Grow Your Own’, ‘The Lighthouse Folk Festival’ and the celebrated ‘Mountain Sounds Festival’.

The Little Quirks are a young, all-girl trio made up of sisters, Abbey and Mia, and their cousin Jaymi from the New South Wales, Central Coast. Although the girls are quite young they have been playing together for over three years. They have a raw indie-folk sound with a unique blend of mandolin, acoustic guitar and drums (and occasionally cousin Alex on bass). They have a natural ability to produce mesmerising harmonies that combine to create their distinct ‘Little Quirks’ sound.

THE HUNTING BIRDS

The Hunting Birds are a captivating five-piece whose genre-defying sound blends heartfelt folk qualities with exhilarating rock energy.

Led by charismatic vocalists Connor Minervini and Kendra Fewster, the Fremantle band’s raw musical talent and animated performances have cemented their reputation as one of WA’s must-see live acts.

2017 has been a huge year for the band, with a spot on the Falls Festival lineup and their first two national headline tours, as well as being invited to support US folk heavyweights The Lumineers and chart topping sensations Hanson on the Perth leg of their Australian tours.

DJ GENERAL JUSTICE

RTRFM’s “Jamdown” General justice is a daddy to 6 beautiful daughters, husband to a beautiful wife, a mad music fan, a Vespa rider, a Leeds United supporter and most importantly, a RASTAMAN

“Playing music that I love that’s virtually ignored elsewhere in the media and music industry! Especially reggae ,which has had such a profound effect on other genres of music, yet is not acknowledged in Dance Music Awards or in the WAMIs. It’s really great to be the first to introduce new artists to the public and also its great to work with my very talented younger co-hosts on Jamdown”
